Francis Marion was also known as what?

Francis Marion earned enduring fame for his guerrilla warfare in the swampy Lowcountry, using surprise attacks and rapid withdrawals to disrupt British forces. That style gave him a memorable nickname: The Swamp Fox, a label that highlights his ability to operate in difficult, marshy terrain and elude larger enemies. The force he led and organized is often called Marion's Partisans, which refers to his guerrilla band rather than a personal nickname for Marion himself. So, while the unit is known as Marion's Partisans, the name most people associate with him personally is The Swamp Fox, reflecting why his tactics stood out in the Southern campaign.
